Network Play
Hosts and clients must all be on the same WiFi network (LAN) as the host device.
If a Fire TV or Fire TV Stick runs Joustine, it is the host: it shows the game and a QR code on the big screen. The Fire TV remote counts as a player, and Bluetooth game controllers paired to the Fire TV each join as their own player.
Guests do not need to install anything: they scan the QR code and play from a tap-interface in their phone's web browser.
A Fire tablet running the Joustine app works both ways: it can host its own game, or — when another Joustine host is on the same WiFi (a Fire TV, an Apple TV, a Google TV, a PC) — it automatically becomes a touch controller for that game.
Joustine on Fire devices does not stream game video to clients; everyone watches the shared host screen.
The best experience is players gathered around the Fire TV screen, using their own devices only for input, rather than everyone watching their own handheld.
Joustine may work with any device's web browser on your LAN.
